Extension of the validity of the documents for staying in national territory

On June 30, 2022, was published the Decree-Law no. 42-A/2022, which amended the measures applicable in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This Decree-Law extends, until December 31, 2022, the validity of the documents and visas related to the stay in national territory, whose validity has expired since March 14, 2020.

We recall that, in March 2020, the Government had established that the documents and visas related to the stay in national territory, which validity expired after 14 March 2020, would be accepted under the same terms until June 30, 2020. Afterwards, the Government continuously extended the validity of these same documents, which are now valid until the end of 2022.
